Amazing place. It is a throbbing, heaving mass of energy. It's impossible to put your foot down and take a step without walking on someone's stuff for sale! Incredible stuff for sale too, aphrodisiacs, lama foetuses ( yes really) all sorts of lotions and potions doing God knows what, tourist tat and household stuff. Such noise and colour with really... Really a surreal, but fun safe area. Your one stop dead llama shop. The people were friendly enough and traffic, like all of LaPaz is at best dangerous. I did enjoy it

I had read about this online and was very excited to go see it but was hugely disappointed. All it is, is a line of shops along a side street in the city. Most of the shops are just standard tourist shops with just a few that offer "witchy" goods. It was a real let down.

This is a street bordered by small stores not maned by witches ( the yatiri shamans are to be found in El alto ) but with a variety of objects used in traditional ceremonies and for regular use The dry Lama fetuses can be found in large amounts but look not at all terrifying Most of the objects belong to... One of the best and more convenient places for your shopping in La Paz, if you are a tourist of course :-)

I must say we enjoyed walking the streets here but we found the one in Chiclayo, Peru better. We could get a better sense of the importance of this part of a culture and religion there. Markets are the best place to get a feeling for the life of the people. We always go where ever we are in the... More

A lot of nonsense is for sale here, from aphrodisiacs to dried llama fetuses which need to be offered when building a house. Nice to walk through but not very impressive.

I loved exploring the witches market. Lots of lotions and potions and interesting artefacts. Not for the sqeamish Llama fetus's are seen in most places.

If you are fortunate enough to visit this incredible, busy, crowded city -- do not miss the Witches Market. If you need a potion to protect your love, your marriage, your children or anything else you'd like protected in your life, this is the place to be. It can also be a bit upsetting as you will see dead baby... More

We went here it´s not far from the Church of San Francisco, here you can see a sea of traditional hats floating about 2 feet below your line of vision. Here you can find an array of stuff like herbal medicines, hocus pocus artifacts, fabrics and Andean knits.
