This is an easy 2 hour excursion from La Paz. No need for a tour, can get there easily by taxi (and likely bus from Zona Sur). Two trails, one 45 minutes one 15. Worth a visit. to see the cool rock formations. Not at...More

You can't miss it! Being in La Paz and not going to the Valley of the Moon is like going to a Pizza restaurant and not eat pizza. It's a close ride from the city and will not take you more than 2 hours to...More

The valley of the moon has dirt rock formations that are appropriate to it's name. After walking in just a few feet in the trails you lose sight of civilization and without trails would get easily lost as walking around where the riverbeds would be...More

I spent about an hour here and covered the longer trail. There is a number of view points to take some good photographs, however, unless you are a geology geek you may find that walking through the landscape becomes somewhat tedious? If you have only...More

We did an independent trip by public transport here and it was smooth and safe. The site itself offer all the facilities that one may need, but the surroundings lack on bars/restaurants so bring your food/drinks.

The Valley of the Moon is a quick drive away from downtown La Paz. It is perfectly unique and enchanting enclave imbedded in the middle of the Andes mountains. the entire area has been fitted with narrow foot pats and makeshift bridges, which allow for...More

We took the hop bus, the sound doesn't work in most off all seats. They stop by for 15 minutes, more than enough to take some pictures. I wasn't impressed at all.

Super for a day trip from La Paz. There's a really easy path to stroll around the park. Suitable for most ages. Very affordable and easy to get to. Worth a visit.

This place is amazing, worth a visit to get some cool pictures. It's around half an hour drive from centre of La paz. There is a lovely camping village about 2 miles from it, if you want to stay in the area overnight.

The valley is an interesting set of various mud sculptures made by the rain and the wind. There are trails that one can follow to see some of the most interesting shapes. Nothing extraordinary in my opinion.

Very few dogs around- but apart from at the ticket booth, didn't see any officials around - so doubtful they would even notice if one is subtle.

There is really no need for a guide. There are two clearly marked trails of 15 and 45 minutes and the entire walk is in a fenced area so is totally safe. A taki from La Paz should cost you 40 Bs. You will have to catch a... More
