You really have to see this place if you're around Bogota! The place it's huge and full of any kind of trees and flowers. They recreate different areas of Colombian vegetation. There is even a Humedal (You'll find what that is when you go there)! They have free guided tours in Spanish every hour and there is one in English... More

Been to a lot of botanical gardens and this is one of the best. One reviewer said "small site" and "scattered plantings" well this person must have had his or her eyes closed. I refer you to my pictures. Education is front and center with many daily presentations, excellent signage and helpful staff everywhere. And as far as the on... More

Wish the weather was better during my time here - cold and rainy as it were. Worth a visit for those interested in learning about tropical plants and flowers.

Scattered plantings provide some interest, but ongoing construction mars this otherwise peaceful and relaxing botanical garden. It does, however, provide a welcome respite from the pollution, noise and chaos of Bogota. The actually smells and tastes better here. The onsite restaurant was disappointing both for its offerings and seating.

This is a world class botanical garden dedicated to educating visitors about the ecology of Colombia. It is also a great spot for urban birding. My husband and I took a docent tour with a guide who spoke a little English as we didn't have time for the bilingual tour. He was fantastic in speaking Spanish slowly enough that we... More

I lived in different countries and always in a city that had Botanical Gardens - never did I visit them. Now was the time, the weather was nice and we felt like a walk in natural surroundings. I don't know if it was due to the time of year (November) but there weren't a lot of flowers to be seen.... More

The Botanic Garden is a vast open space with many plants and flowers to see. There are some permanent exhibitions that are indoors, offering some tropical and sub-tropical experiences, as well. The cafe is also wonderful, serving good food at very inexpensive prices. Early in the morning, there are few or no people, and you can enjoy this urban oasis... More

I truly enjoyed visiting the Jardin Botanico in Bogota. I took some of my best profile pictures there, especially with the cloudy mountains as my background. It makes for a nice long and adventurous walk.
