Asuncion today is very different from those "golden days of yesteryear," when the elegant old central station now housing the museum was the hub of Paraguay's steam railway system. This makes a visit to the railway museum a good and interesting thing to do but also a rather sad one. On the plus side, there is a good collection of... More

Probably enjoyed the attractiveness of this mid 19th centaury building than the small railroad museum that is probably more for the railway buffs Does give a little insight into past

The museum is inside the former railway station. It has several rooms filled with railroad equipment and memorabilia that gives the history of rail travel in Paraguay. The museum also has an old dining car that one can go inside and an engine. A person who is interested in trains and railroads will find this place interesting.

It is a very interesting place to visit, but it needs some remaking. The museum is very poor of attractions!

There is something sad about this museum as the railroad effectively ceased to exist at the end of the 1990s. How different the situation at this station would have been if investments in good public transport e.g. a rail link with Buenos Aires would have been made. The car and oil lobby (US companies) successfully lobbied for transport by road... More

This is a great small railway museum. Well worth the entrance fee and will take an hour to trundle around.

It's a nice place to visit, no more than 30min. Some information and old components of a train, railroad and train station. A visit inside a old wagon is the most interesting part. Gs$ 10.000 (for foreign)

It's a very old and poorly taken care of museum. There are interesting objects and documents to see, and there is a wagon we can get inside, which is very cool.

This has the feeling of a place that's gonna fall apart at some stage. There is effort made to preserve any of the stuff there. That kind of adds to the charm. Worth a visit at only 10Gs.
