Nice place for a stroll

We stopped there on our city tour of Asunción, as this is where you get the best views of the city, and the river. Theres also a cool I love Asunción sign there, with the # in front of it. Well worth the stop!

Best view to Asuncion

They were late for 20 years but they did it at least... Great for better traffic but especially to have a global view of Asuncion.

Nice walk when it's cool.
Jan 2020 • Solo
This would make a nice walk when it's cool in the early evening or early morning. The truth is that at other times it's just too hot. Pleasant vista with boats rowing on the river early morning. Guess it's not so good when there's a lot of traffic about.

Very nice promenade and views
Nov 2019
Asuncion needed a new promenade and open air space to walk and enjoy the river and also for public enjoyment, and also, looks very modern and a good place to walk in a late afternoon....it is a very hot town....temperature wise

Best running path in Paraguay!
Nov 2018 • Solo
The view of the Paraguay river, the historical buildings, and the cityscape are all a great backdrop for a sweet 5 mile run along the costanera.. I ran, listen to music, and snapped pictures… The beginning of a great weekend!

Waterfront Promenade
Sep 2019
Although I am told that this promenade is a major accomplishment in the Asuncion's revitalization, it is just a promenade. Well maintained walkway along the Bay of Asuncion, there really is not much to see along the path. Great if you want to go for a jog, but there really is not that much to see. Of note, at one end behind the Palacio de los Lopez, there is a large "Asuncion" sign which makes for great pictures with the palace in the background.

A place to walk and check out a few sites
Mar 2019 • Solo
Nice place to walk for open air. Water levels differ depending on what part of the Costenera you are located.
One end is more developed than the other end. Was told there are plans to develop this area as a boardwalk for tourism: hotels, restaurants, tall trees ...
There is an old port that you can see some decommissioned cranes. The old port buildings are now used for offices.
The Asunción sign is just off the Costanera street, near the Palacio de López.
