Nice Cathedral

Located in the town centre this cathedral has a beautiful architectural design at the front of the building and inside. The sides of it are less impressive

Went to Sunday Mass here. The exterior and interior of the cathedral are magnificent. After Mass I met the Archbishop and got a photo with him. I enjoyed speaking with some of the parishioners after Mass too.

I found this Cathedral to be more of a spiritual center, which is at the center of the most important official ceremonies. It shows a rather practical style without the excess of ornaments. It is close to other significant buildings, and it can be done together with other nearby museums to understand that this has been a constant in downtown... More

It is a very important church to go. It's part of the History of Paraguay. It is a good place to see but there isn't much around.

This was interesting to go inside and see. What struck me the oddest was the flat ceiling. I have not seen that in a cathedral before. There are usually paintings or sculptures on the ceilings, but this had a flat ceiling with parallel lines running the length of it.

We stopped here on a tour of the city. It is a nice, old church with scenic photo opportunities. It is not huge or ornate like many famous churches, but it is quaint and worth a stop.

No problems ,grief or worries. WAS WARMLY WELCOMED AS A VISITOR and enjoyed the interaction with the "displaced" outside in the surrounding area. These people were recently forced to move their shanty location due to the Parana river flooding where they lived. They are poor and Catholics, not all thieves and pickpockets. Adjust your preconceptions and enjoy the area around... More

The Cathedral is an imposing structure in terms of its size but the architecture is remarkably simple but very colonial Spanish. Dating from the period of President Lopez (the father) the Cathedral is in downtown Asuncion and next to the President's palace - both can be seen from the other. The area felt safe enough - we were there in... More

It is a nice church both inside and outside, but I would not recommend to get down of the taxi because of the slum on the opposite street.
