This museum is FREE to enter and has some very interesting and special exhibits on display. However, it does lack explanations in both Spanish and English, and is overall pretty poorly maintained. Worth a visit nonetheless

Fine little collection of preserved animals. Some are stuffed ( big mammals) some are in liquid (frogs, snakes) other dried (spiders, beetles and butterflies). Especially the collection of spiders was amazing. Perhaps these monsters lives here in Paraguay.

This museum is mentioned in the book "At the Tomb of the Inflatable PIg." If you want to know about the flora and fauna of Paraguay this is a good place to start. The curators/guides are very helpful. The museum contains hundreds of stuffed and preserved creatures that inhabit Paraguay. Perhaps one of the more bizarre specimens is a preserved... More
