Get a good bird guide to find the birds here. New Guinea Natural tours Daniel Wakra is fantastic and makes bird watching a real adventure. You may also see deer in the park and the lookout is worth the hike but you can drive up to it as well. There are camp sites and picnic tables about as well as... More

A 30–45 minutes drive out of the hustle and bustle of city life north up on to the Sogeri plateau. A great picnic spot for the family. Also birdwatching, trekking and camping. Best to visit as a group rather than a duo for safety reasons.

Its become my favorite color now, green. And blue. There was a BEAUTIFUL plateau in there that had a blue view of the ocean. It's also safe, no wild animals ought to kill you or anything ;). You can ride down there, on car, but there should be two. You need a backup too, its very dangerous, and thrilling, if... More

The one thing I love about this place is how different it is to Port Moresby. Lots of green and fresh air, and the view from the top the look out is just amazing. Love it. I recommend! You need to drive there though. Probably takes about an hour...and you will have to pay an entry fee of about K30... More

If you are in POM, you should visit at least one time to this beautiful Varirata National Park. It is safe to visit and you will see beautiful landscape along the way. Bring some lunch box with you because food is not available there. I suggest you to go two 4 wheels cars , if one break down on the... More

Most of the facilities set up by the Australians are in ruins but the roads and walking tracks are still good. We had an excellent guide who really helped make the day a good one. Be careful if you leave your car unattended -there is a history of theft and muggings. We saw lots of birs including Raggiana BoP and... More
