It was very interesting to visit the Earhart home knowing that such an aviation icon had been born there. We found the displays to be well done.

We headed to Atchison on our road trip of the mid-West USA to visit the town and this museum. Although it was 'just' a house where she was born and spent her childhood, there was alot of items to read and see. History. In the aviation world, she was a first, at a time when the world was male dominated.

Well kept birthplace museum with nice shop, beautiful view and good exhibits. The garage Amelia 'flew' off of is still there.

Was so impressed with this place. The volunteer who lead us through was so knowledgeable. What a great asset to Atchison.

It was $6 to visit the house Amelia Earhart was born in. The home is very nice and has movie costumes worn by Hillary Swank, who played Amelia in the movies. You basically get to wander around by yourself. We spent maybe 30 minutes there, and felt the time was worthwhile. Recommend.

We were right down the street when we were at Chuck and Hanks and we had missed this when we passed through Atchison the first time so we went up the hill a 1/4 mile to the Amelia Earhart Birthplace. A slight charge for a self quided tour of the house which is filled with period antques and authentic Amelia... More

This museum was NOT disappointing, but nothing to write home about, either. You'd have to be a REAL Earhart fan to consider it worth the time. Our "guide" couldn't answer most of our questions and seemed totally confused when she got off the "prepared" information. The house is nice, but nothing special. If you're in town for some reason and... More

A nice enuf place but seemed busy downstairs....they ask for a fee but I had no guide except what I read. Oh well....it WAS cool to see the upstairs and see the view that Amelia did from her window.

A visit to the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum is an absolute must when visiting Atchison! This is the home where Amelia Earhart was born and then lived with her Grandparents Otis from age three to twelve. The Museum is owned by the 99s, the organization of women pilots founded by Amelia. You will see the small home built by Amelia's... More
