As you come into town this is close to the Ameila Earhart Bridge. It is a great place to get maps and purchase memorabilia.

We spent 2 1/2 hrs at the Atchison Museum with friends and learn much about the history of weapons, the historical characters that made a difference in the progress of the land and the farm implements used

This is a great little museum attached to the visitors center. It has information about the railroad, Amelia Earhart, Lewis & Clark, and hosts a rare gun collection. It is worth walking through.

There are some interesting things in the museum but many descriptions are not very informative or all together missing. The building itself is interesting as a part of our nation's RR history.

Located within the Visitor Center inside the old railroad Depot. The pink neon sign in the photo is a sign inside the museum inside the visitor center, not outside the building. Visitor Center restrooms are pleasant and clean. Lots of tourist information for all areas...More
