These markets are fairly small. There's not much to buy and what is available is similar to what is sold in Asia - same quality but triple the price. Some vendors are very nice but the few we brought from were a bit rude which...More

We were in Noumea for the day on a cruise and bought a Hop on Hop off ticket from the information centre for $12 Aus each and first stop was to the markets. Great to get a souvenir at reasonable prices and there is an...More

it was great. people were nice and the food was amazing! I would totally recommend going there if you are in Noumea when the market is open.

Great seafood and vegetables. A fair range of clothes and tourist trinkets. Good for people watching. We were disappointed. We thought we would get traditional islander food there at stalls but sadly there was none.

Go early. Great vegetable, fish and meats. Look around as some is fresher then others and some cheaper as well jet fresh.

Average overpriced market with very little to buy. The fish part was worth seeing as was the fruit and vegetables but don't expect much !

Arriving on a Sunday as part of a cruise, it was good to see something open at least. Interesting to see how the locals shop, but really. O different to some of the local markets at home.

You don't need to take a tour, just walk there yourselves from the ship or take a short taxi ride.
