Amazing place!

Reasonably easy walk in and amazing place to visit and have the opportunity to swim and snorkel in. Don't need to worry about the tides here, it is not affected

Matapa Chasm is incredible. After a short walk from the carpark, the chasm opens up in front of you, inviting you for a swim. Safe at any tide, warm fresh water mixes with the ocean and there are always hundreds of fish. There's a concrete area to place your belongings on, and rock walls to climb and jump off for... More

Awesome clear water, relaxing, swimming, snorkelling or jumping off the cliff top, my favourite (recommend to take some swimming shoes if you are game enough to jump off the cliffs, the rocks are so sharp), love, love, love this place.

The walk in to the snorkelling spot is a lovely stroll stroll through butterfly-friendly forest, and easy walk (I suppose there's a gentle slope but that's not obvious) and takes just 5-10 minutes. The snorkelling itself is a treat - easy to get into the water as you wade in on large flat rocks. Really interesting fish in the chasm... More

After a 5 minute walk through the forest, you'll find yourself at the chasm. It's almost cut off from the sea, save for an occasional wave that makes its way over the boulders at the far end. It's really impressive and there are a lot of colourful fish beneath the water. Interestingly, the water lower down is actually warmer than... More

We had this place to ourselves when we visited which was awesome. The water is nice and deep and we saw some cool fish while snorkelling. It is very slippery as you get into the pool so be careful!

Just a 10 minute walk down hill the view is worth it. As you walk down you can hear the booming clap of waves as it hits the out reef. Plant life is rich. When you see the chasm for the first time you are in awe with the view. It's like looking at an interactive photo. The high canyons... More

This is a very safe swimming and snorkelling spot that can be accessed at any tide. The short 5 mins walk through the bush is well worth it when you arrive at the chasm. It's quite wide and perfect for families. There is virtually no swell, and there is some shallow bits too. There is a big deep hole about... More

this is honestly one of the most beautiful places I have been to in my life, the history behind this spot of where the kings/royalty used to bathe is amazing. Just absolutely gorgeous.

After walking through the bush you come across this quiet little spot - there was a bit of rubbish and untidiness but there had just been a cyclone so it is forgivable! It is surprisingly calm for how deep it gets in the middle and if you are brave enough you can climb up the cliff face and jump into... More
