Ambrym is an amazing island as much for its landscapes than for the people living there. Start you travel in Endo and finish in Craig Cove hiking the volcanoes for tree days with the great guide Philimon Paul. This guy is lovely, professional, cares a lot and gives you proper smokes masks for your own safety. He is always happy... More

You fly in a small plane onto a grass airstrip, 4X4 vehicle or walk to village (preplan or ask locals when you arrive - and no banks/ATMs as this is a forested island, so carry Vanuatu money). Crossing on a small fishing boat from Pentecost to Ambrym Island,we were fishing on the way and talking some English how local people trade fish & chickens for something else(not using money) We were approaching slow to Ambrym by night and the boat guide pointed me the 2 volcanoes ON RED! Stunning view of them! they were so active...AMAZING SHOW!... More

I have travelled to Iceland, Seychelles, Svalbard, Namibia, French Polynesia, Alaska, Italy, Indonesia, Lord Howe Island, Fiji and Vanuatu but Ambrym is the most special island I have ever seen in my entire life. I REALLY recommend to go to the Marum Volcano with Philimon Paul from the village of Endu. The walk is hard and he did not get... More
