Great concept, unfortunately the post office needs a bit of a clean, I'm sure a stiff brush and a bit of elbow grease would improve the look immensely. The reef and fish surrounding the post office though are amazing, well worth the swim out!

Posted the oblicatory postcard here - fun for the kids but the pistbox is covered in algae - could do with a spruce up since it is talked up quite a bit.

The underwater post office did not have a post-master to take your letter (which we have seen on various tourism pages) which was disappointing. It was very dirty and covered in slime and needed a staff person to give it a good scrub down. I...More

Great short swim to the post Office. It is a great place to visit for young and old. Water is clear and filled with fish. A must visit when visiting vanuatu.

This attraction is looking a little tired now but still great fun for the kids to do. It can take a bit of effort to get down to the post box to send the postcard but still they love it.

If you are a snorkeller, this is a little must-see off Hideaway Island. It's not flash, just a curiosity.

Was part of the area off Hidden island and while a novel idea the actual fish life was more interesting. Still worth a look as part of a trip to the island

About 15 minuets from Vila. Short tinny ride to the island. Snorkel gear for hire on the island. Guided dives as well as freestyle.

A must do experience if you come to Hideaway Island. The underwater post office is located on a pontoon about 300 metres from the shore. Great photo opportunity as you post your special card.

If you have time to do a round of the island there are lots of little beaches and coves with clear water and beautiful fish. Hideaway is lovely and a good choice as it is not too far to travel.
