All white monuments and park - seems so often In British colonial times. Very nice as a landmark especially as one drives through downtown area with so many nice colonial buildings

This park is in the centre of Yangon and when we visited it was packed with families, musicians and a band playing. Quite a nice space to relax in. Even had civilised toilets which is most unusual. Spend around 1 hour wandering through and that...More

We didn't go inside the park, but we get off from the car infront of the park. It is City Hall just infront of the park. We take photo of city hall and then continue for a walk among Yangon Heritage Colonial Style buildings.

Smallish park which is the site of the independence monument. Nothing much to do in the park itself except people watch. There were several Yangon residents enjoying a break while we were there including a little boy who was stark naked. He was protesting loudly...More

This park was obviously popular for local folks on a Sunday. It provided a shady place to drink our water on a warm day. Nice, well maintained green-space.

Take 30-60 minutes and have a walk around and through the gardens where you can see the Independence Monument, City Hall, High Court and the Sule Pagoda. Even take your life in your hands trying to cross the streets at the SUle Pagoda roundabout.

Apart from the independence monument (which only has Burmese text on it), there really isnt much to see here. Perhaps the most helpful thing in this park is its public toilet.

This is a beautiful place in Yangon to come and chill out; if the weather isn't too scorching! We came here after visiting the Sule Pagoda as they are a two minute walk from one another. The park is simply stunning with the independence monument...More
