I took this with a local guide and we only did a small section (about 30-45 minutes). It was interesting to see how the locals travel and the area we travelled was mostly back end of the various precincts of local Yangon.

Cost 200 kyat which is a tiny amount. Went on for about an hour mid morning which was fairly busy but got seats. It was an experience but you don't need to go the whole way round I got off after an hour.

Even times are changing in Yangon, but the train ride is still an almost inexpensive adventure as it is the normal way for locals to get in and out of town. So you join the locals. . .

I'd say go for the counter clockwise one, it's the same platform of the ticket selling place (platform 6 or 7), get off from danyangon station, there are always taxi available outside of the market, it's around 9000-10000... More
