Kandawgyi Park is a nice oasis in Yangon and a popular recreation area for the people of Yangon. The Kakaraweik Barge is situated here which is worth a photo or two.

Though Kandawgyi was not located in the downtown, it was very close to the city center. The entrance fee was affordable. There were also art and craft shops located by the lake with several small places to dine.

So many restaurants inside. If you go for dinner, beware of mosquito bite. Mosquito repellent spray is a must!!

The Green hangout place if you want to drift away from City heat. Fresh air from lake. Variety of light foods and restaurants. Wide parking is available.

There is nothing much to do here other than walk... The wooden bridges are old, broken and shaky. The view isn't that great since there is nothing to see other than the lake (which is not beautiful to me). Definitely not worthy of a visit.

It’s a long way around the lake. Boardwalk is in serious disrepair but is being replaced. Part is in the shade and that can be very nice on a sunny day.

Our guide took us here for a relaxing stroll on the boardwalk around the lake. It would have been exactly that if I wasn't constantly worried I was going to fall through said boardwalk and into the less than savoury looking water of Kandawgyi lake....More

It is an urban park in the middle of a busy, polluted city so yes, you will hear car traffic even deep in the park, like in any city park. That said, it is a refreshing stop after walking from monastery to pagoda all morning....More
