Walking around the lake via the dilapidated boardwalk is an adventure, but a potential safety hazard. The appallingly maintained structure needs urgent attention. In the meantime, it needs the walker's attention to avoid twisting an ankle, falling through rotten timbers or worse. Walk selectively and diligently on the beams, indicated by the firm nails, and take time to enjoy the... More

If you get a taxi here they will most probably drop you off right outside a ticket booth. I found it strange that you had to pay to enter a park, especially when it was nothing special. Unless you want to go to one of the cafe's near the Karaweik Palace, keep walking to the pier alongside the motorway where... More

I was very happy with this park! It has well maintained grounds and an amazing bridge that goes through a large portion of the park. They are starting to refinish the bridge but currently it is rickety, missing planks in places. This adds to the charm of you watch your step. There are some shades spots but mostly sunny when... Today we walked around this park for about 3 hours. There is a elevated wooden path that takes you around. The path is a little rough and starting to rot a bit but is safe and they are working on fixing it. The scene along the lake is beautiful, we really enjoyed our walk. I highly recommend this stop if... More

This park is located by a man made lake and is popular among the locals from early in the morning for exercise to later hours for fun and relaxation.

The actual park is not much to speak of but it does provide a very good photo spot for a picture of the Royal Barge. The boardwalk is deteriorating and you really need to be careful. We ventured on it to get a better view of the Barge but otherwise it should be avoided.

Kan daw gyi lake is one the famous lakes in Yangon. The park iself is located next to Kan Daw Gyi palace hotel. The main attraction within the park is the wooden path in the middle of the river. A walk in the evening would be best when it is not too hot and you can enjoy the Shwedagon pagoda... More

We went here with a guide who was running out of things to do with us in Yangon. The lake is lovely but the boardwalk is in disrepair. There was some complicated story about different entrance fees. There is one free entrance, but not sure which one.

A nice park but not a must-see for Yangon. I may feel this way because it was really hot when I was there, and after I tried to walk from the west side to the east side I encountered a closure in the path along the south side of the lake. I had to backtrack before seeing the sights on... More

It is a big lake, a public area where the local hangout. If its hot and sunny you better bring your umbrella cause there's not much covered walkway and theres a lot of trees so expect a lot of bird poops too. There is also a unique building called Karaweik Hall. Google it and you will know why i called... More
