We stopped here on the way back into Yangon on our tour and it was a couple of days after Remembrance Day 11th November so there were lots of Poppies and flower tributes on the graves. A very moving and solemn place.

It was interesting to walk around the Commonwealth WW ll war cemetery and realize the 27,000 different nationalities who died in Burma. The graves are beautifully maintained .

The Taukkyan War Cemetery is a sad, but beautiful, memorial to those who lost their lives in war. The gardens are exceptionally neat and tidy, with colourful flowers adding an element of brightness to the solemn atmosphere. So many young lives lost, and so many...More

A park on the way back from Golden Rock Pagoda. People went there for dating. Couples everywhere in the park. Nothing much except for one snap from your camera.

This cemetery is beautiful. The tributes on each gravestone, the ages of the young men who lost their lives and the walls and walls of names left me feeling very humbled and sad. How I wish we could find a way to resolve conflict through...More

The cemetery is on the city fringe and in traffic will take over an hour to reach. However it is worth it. The cemetery is immaculately maintained (in contrast to much in Myanmar) and is a restful haven from the traffic and bustle of Yangon....More

We rented a van. It's about over an hour drive. I think the registry is being kept by the Commonwealth War Graves in London.
