"A talented troupe of Korean performers treats Cookin' audience to a taste of Culinary lunacy-sliced and diced to percussive perfection." - Playbill, Minetta Lane Theater - NANTA premiered in 1997 and is the longest running show in Korean history. This electrifying 90-min show, on the comically-charged efforts of four cooks who are tasked with preparing an entire wedding banquet in just one hour, is one of Korea's most popular musicals of all time. Since its first performance, this world famous non-verbal performance made a record of 20% above full capacity at the theater driving the largest number of audience in Korean history.

Nanta is about innovation, where the traditional Korean Samul nori music is performed with unconventional instruments like chopping board, water jars and knives.

Saw rave reviews but have lived in London where choice of theatre and performances is huge so this was disappointing. This show is quite old - think over 15 years! Needs updating. It is a bit like pantomime. Person I went with rated it 1 out of 10!

On our stay in seoul we decided to look at this show, which is very popular and must admit not bad it a combination of music, dancing, singing, sort of cooking, jokes, magic and so on. public joins in here and there, lasts about 1,5 hour, we took the most expensive ticket of cc 55 euro and were in the... It did not disappoint!!! WOW FANTASTIC I wish I could remember the teams names that performed it was on Nov 30th 2016. 8pm show. They were so precise and the girl was so good and really added so much charizma to the show. When I return again to Korea I will go to see this show. We paid 60,000 won... More

We watched the cooking show. It was so entertaining, worth the money. We booked our tickets online and got 40% discount. I actually tried to book it at their website, but encountered some problems. So I emailed them, and gave them details of date and which category of seats and they responded promptly. They asked me for my hotel details... More

Great show which appeals to all ages. There are special promotions available on the website. Book at least a week or two early as 1st floor seats sell fast. Good visibility from any seat from 1st floor so no need to spend on VIP nor the more expensive seats.

First off, the place is a little difficult to find. There is a small sign on the building where the theater is located, but you will have to walk into the building to locate the theater. The lobby area does have things to keep you occupied while you wait for the start of the show - it has a small... More

An absolute MUST SEE, period. It plays at several locations in Seoul, be sure to make this one of your evenings while in town. TIPS: - any seat is great - you can buy tickets in person at the box office for a considerable discount, but NOT for day of shows - you can also buy them online for a... More

A fun and exciting show and they actually got everyone in the theatre to participate as well. Suitable even for those who does not understand korean language. We had the red team performing on that day and they were great!

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
