Insadong is closed off to traffic on Sat (2pm-10pm) and Sun (10am-10pm). On the Sat we visited, we saw a protest group saying no to dog meat trade. Interesting! There were also a few performances, and I especially enjoyed the one by college students (farmer’s...More

Great place for wandering around. Live performances on Saturdays. Cheap souvenirs and Korean pottery, antiques. Be sure to duck into the art galleries while wandering around, and get a coffee and poop-shaped pastry at the Ddo-ong cafe in the Ssamzigil complex!

Came here on our first day of arrival, fascinated by its creativeness amidst the tradition and modernisation. Absolutely a good start for our exploration in Seoul. 3500 won ice cream was one of the best here!

It's a reasonable walking street with some nice shops and products, but a few will try to pressure you, just step out and move on.

We found a few unique shops here but the majority of things could be found elsewhere cheaper. Poop Cafe was cute with the top level having discs with devotions of love written out and tied to the railings.

Nice area to walk around and explore. Lots of street food on offer. A little touristy but still a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small
neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects
of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional
Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts,
fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir
shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in
particular has become a local institution for its
unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops

Insadong is the old town, full of shops, hawkers, restaurants, etc. I have no idea what hotel you are staying in, but the Insadong is certainly worth seeing. We stayed at the Marriott. Taxis are available, but usually... More
