Go and enjoy walking among the old architecture and smell the fragrant of history!....but avoid going there during the official holidays and week ends (it became so crowded).

It is a very nice walk that will show some islamic monuments and old cairo history as it used to be the old capital. Make sure to have a guide and to bargain when buying any souvenirs. PS, mosques are open till 5 pm so make sure to be there @1 pm maximum to get the best of this walk... More

Go there to discover how cairo was looks before I prefer to go there after midnight It's magical time there Little people so you can enjoy the atmosphere Nice views with little lights But go there with groups and let Egyptians deal with sales men if you want to buy something

I didn't know about Muizz street and generally didn't want to go to the poor areas of Cairo, but somehow I discovered this on the Internet while we were in Cairo just one day before our departure, and so we went. We went without any guides, armed with our knowledge from the Internet. We began by Bab Al-Futuh, walked all... More

This street is really one of the places that I love to go every time I go to Cairo The reason why I gave 3 stars is because it's dirty and smelly but it's a slice of cairo's history and there is a lot to see It's important to bargin tot anything you wanna buy they sometimes go as low... More

Mu'izz Street is a spectacular sight! You don't have to be a history buff to appreciate the old architecture and ornate symmetrical carvings everywhere. The road is blocked off to most traffic (they let some motorcycles through) and the street is made of cobblestones. We went in the evening, unfortunately the mosques were all locked and Bayt As Suhaymi and... More

It is clean, full of life, specially at night where you can see the colourful lights decorating old houses, mosques and khans (old name for markets) on booths sides of the street. It is like a mile long or so. So unique buildings, you may take from 2 to 3 hours to cover it. Walking there makes me feels like... More

In 969 AD the Fatimid’s succeeded in conquering Egypt and in establishing the Fatimid Caliphate that ruled Egypt for nearly 200 years. The first Fatimid Caliph, Al-MuIzz Li-Din Allah [afterwards Al-MuIzz], commissioned his general, the brilliant “Gawhar the Sicilian” to build “Al-Qahira” [Cairo]. In 1074, the famous Commander of the Fatimid armies, “Badr EL Gammali”, enlarged the city and constructed... More

During the day, until 5pm, you are able to visit most of the mosques in the area. At night, the place comes alive with activity; we did a evening walk through here and it was so beautiful. The mosques are lit up nicely, there are little food stands along the way to grab a hot Kabob and many shops. Just... More
