While visiting the Nilometer, don’t miss the chance to see the Umm Kolthoum Museum. The tickets are less than a US Dollar, it isn’t big, it isn’t fancy but it does showcase the wonderful Egyptian Singer who could sing for 4 hours at a time...More

This is seriously a hidden gem in Cairo. The museum, while small, is very well organized and really showcases the beauty that is Om Kalthoom. The museum is right next to the Nilometer so you can check out both sites together.

This collection of photos and memorabilia of the great Egyptian singer is barely worth the visit. If you go, ask the attendant to play you the videos of the singer. Otherwise you'll have no idea what the divine one sounded like!

Not a fan of Umm Kolthoum's work, and having only heard of her thanks to a famous Egyptian jewellery collection my wife adores, I had no real ideas of what the museum might hold. It's a small, well organised (better than the Antiquities museum) museum...More
