this sphinx hasa nose but no inscriptions . hence no details of who built it and when and for why. disappointing except for a photo op

located very near to the pyramids is the Sphinx. It is obviously worth seeing and taking photos of. Some of it is in restoration but really worth visiting!

Don't confuse this one with the much larger Sphinx in Giza. The sphinx of Memphis is much smaller. It is next to the Colossus of Ramesses at the Mit Rahina museum so worth seeing when you see the Colossus of Ramesses. Quite a few vendors...More

This sphinx is one of the best preserved I have seen in my trip to Egypt. The detail in the carving is amazing. The collection of statues in Memphis is well worth a visit and much less crowded than the other tourist sites.

It is in Memphis which is 15-20 miles away from Giza Plateau , if you have time go there, there is also the master piece colossal limestone statue of Ramses 2 , which used to be 12.8 high when standing, but legs are missing ....More

This Sphinx in Memphis was smaller than the one in Giza but it was still worth seeing. It was a lot less crowded around this Sphinx than the one in Giza.

Once part of the complex at Memphis. Can get quite close and walk around it fully. Part of the Memphis park.

Sphinx are kind of famous statues and when you see them , you will be amazed with their sizes. Egyptian history is something we all wish to know

The best part of this attraction is the drive into it. Great views of the 'rural' Cairo. The attraction itself is a courtyard with the sphinx in the center and a seemingly one hundred vendors surrounding it. Lots of "old rocks" to look at but...More
