A great way to see the Nile and its treasures
Everything was wonderful, from the friendly, helpful staff to the very comfortable accommodation to the tasty and varied food. Although it was extremely hot the boat, including cabins, is well air conditioned. Nothing was too much trouble no matter who we spoke to. We enjoyed the pool, a couple of massages and the shop selling traditional clothing and souvenirs. What an amazing trip we had from Luxor to Aswan and back.

Crossed this River Several while Visiting Cairo and Giza
My driver told me that this River divides or separates Cairo from Giza. One side of the River is Cairo, while the other side is Giza. Noted some locals doing their fishing from the Bridge. Wondered what kind of fish they are catching. Will see other parts of this River as I travel South to Luxor and Aswan.

    #trafalgar best of Egypt
#trafalgar tours took us on a wonderful tour of Egypt. We saw the highlights and it was wonderful! Our guide, Mohamed, did a wonderful job of taking care of us and providing great info about the history of ancient Egypt and living in modern Egypt. We all felt very safe the whole 9 days.

    Nile River Cruise
The boat was Tosco and it was so nice with very nice food. Such a surprise at how nice the Nile River was. I had no idea but was happily surprised. This was planned by Odynovo tours and our guide was traveling down the river on the Nile with us so we got off the boat in the morning and he had a driver pick us up and off we went.

Superb Nile Cruise with Hassan Ali
An amazing 4 night cruise from Luxor to Aswan on the boat the Nile Style with our guide Hassan Ali. The hospitality and service on the boat didn’t disappoint, and we enjoyed every tour which Hassan lead us. He had great knowledge & took time to explain everything clearly - his English was excellent. Loved cruising down he Nile after our early morning tours, watching the the sunsets.

    Doing the Nile in Style
Our guide on this part of our tour was Hassan Ali. I think Hassan was born a natural guide and history teacher. He recounts the stories of Egypts past with passion and enthusiasm. He is the type of guide that truely cares about the happiness of his clients. I thank him for showing us this special part of Egypt. Our 4 day cruise on board the MS Nile Style was a pleasure. The food and service onboard is excellent. Once again Egypt Tours Portal has provided expert advice and service.

    Fabulous Nile River Cruise
My wife and I went on a fabulous Nike River cruise this past December. We used Vantage Deluxe Travel (which has since gone bankrupt) and it was the best cruise we have ever taken. Our tour guide, Ramy, is an Egyptologist and is very knowledgeable about ancient Egypt and its culture. We started with four nights in Cairo, then flew to Luxor to start the cruise. We were on the Nebu, a forty cabin modern boat. Our stateroom was the largest we have had on any of our river or ocean cruises. We visited the temples at Luxor, Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and Edfu. We cruised down the Nile to Aswan and visited the High Dam, Abu Simbel, Philae, and the Old Cataract Hotel. The scenery on the Nile was amazing and the sunsets were spectacular. I was really surprised at how beautiful the Nile is and how expansive it is. We flew back to Cairo from Luxor and bused to Alexandria for three nights then one more night in Cairo before flying home. It was a fantastic experience.

    Perfect Place
The sun casting a warm glow on the ancient temples and ruins that lined the riverbanks created a mesmerizing backdrop. Hand in hand, we marveled at the historical wonders, each telling tales of a civilization that once thrived along the Nile. Our evenings were enchanting as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. The gentle lapping of the water against the boat provided a soothing soundtrack as we enjoyed intimate dinners under the open sky. Cruising under the starlit Egyptian night sky, we stargazed from the deck, captivated by the celestial display above. The rhythmic sounds of the Nile and the distant calls of wildlife added a touch of serenity to the romantic ambiance. Exploring local markets and engaging with the vibrant culture along the riverbanks allowed us to create lasting memories. From savoring local delicacies to partaking in traditional dance, every moment was a shared experience that deepened our connection.

    Wonderful relaxing tour
Had AMAZING sunset felucca ride with Mahrousa and captain Said, recommended by our guide in Food tours by Mila, one of the best food tour I have ever had btw! feluccas are old wind boats that you can hire for hour or two and it goes around the city and can stop occasionally for taking photos or show you some small island, I recommend doing at sunset or sunrise. You can hire easily boat from city center marsa and negotiate the price with captains or boat owners

    10/10 for Classic Holidays
My husband and I recently took a Nile Cruise as part of a package booked with Classic Holidays , I had never heard of Classic holidays before this trip and booked after looking at their reviews . This was without a doubt one of the best holidays we have had , Classic holidays from start to finish were brilliant . We were met by a representative at every point of arrival and departure and the service overall was outstanding . Their recommendations were excellent and I would use them again , and again and again , they even assisted me with a problem I had regarding a purchase on board the cruise ship , which was not their responsibility , but they did anyway . Their customer service ethic is just wonderful .

We had originally booked to cruise on board MS Dolphin and we had researched this ship before we went to Egypt. When we arrived at the ship we were told that we had been moved to MS TiYi 2 because MS Dolphin had a mechanical problem. I discovered that the MS TiYi 2 was a smaller ship and it had no gym. I complained to my holiday package provider.
The following day the Manager approached, apologised for the change and explained the reason for the change. He also offered a package to compensate for my disappointment which included free drinks at lunch and dinner (worth about £5 per meal) free water in our room (worth about £4 ) and free internet (worth £5.00 per day). He offered this to all six people on our tour and we were pleased to accept the offer.
Unfortunately after one day of use the internet stopped working for the whole boat.
It got even better. On day 4 the Manager gave us a room upgrade and we moved out of our cabin into a suite for the remainder of the cruise.
The food and the waiter service on the ship was very good and the cabins were well serviced. The cabin staff had a great time leaving us towel sculptures in our room and in the corridors.
A downside was the Jewelry store guy who persisted until he got us into his store, gave us a price of £600 for a pair of ear-rings for my wife (which I refused) dropped the price to £25 (which I accepted) then raised the price to £250 (which I rejected and told him to stop wasting my time)
We took the full package of visits and our guide (Emad Said) was excellent, giving us an insight into aspects of all the sites that we visited, explaining the historical relevance of each site. Experience not to be missed.

Ok..Let me see if I can find the right words to describe our experience. I went with my daughter on an 8-night cruise from Luxor to Luxor on Sunboat IV. The price of the package included accommodation, 3 meals + tea time, guided tours to selected attractions, entrance fees and transportation. We did not have to pay anything extra except for some tips here and there..we chose to.
Our cabin on the boat was spacious enough, we had enough space to keep our suitcases and move around comfortably, it also had a hotel room size wardrobe and shelves. there were slippers, tissue box, hair drier, bath robes, towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. House keeping cleaned the cabin 2 times a day, provided drinking water and fresh towels every time.
The ship in general has very nice interior, inside and outside is always very clean. Sitting in any of the decks at anytime was lovely to enjoy the scenery, the beautiful weather and the piece and quiet..
The staff, all the staff were very friendly, polite, helpful and gave each guest the needed personal attention. They used to get out of their way just to please us.
The ship manager was Mr.Mustafa Awadh. A true gentleman and a great manager. Everything on the cruise was perfect and he made sure personally that all his guests were having a good time.
Our tour guide, Mr.Midhat was great! very knowledgeable, organized, smart, polite, and he managed the tours in a wonderful way. He knew exactly what and which parts of each temple to concentrate on so he he didn't have to rush us around and we had our time to enjoy the place and take pictures.
The restaurant and lounge staff from the chefs to the waiters were very friendly and so much fun..these are the places where all the guests gather and the atmosphere was always great, especially if it was someone's birthday :)

It was a wonderful experience thanks to Sanctuary Retreats: Reservation staff Mr.Ahmed Magdy, Mr.Mustafa Sunboat IV manager and each staff member on the boat.

I would recommend this cruise strongly to anyone thinking to visit Luxor and Aswan.

After a long bus journey from Hurghada to Luxor we were met by our guide and Egyptologist Ehab from Meeting Point and settled into our 1 week river Nile cruise on the MS Royal Viking. Our guide was great. He was always about and dealt with any queries we had both on our lovely river boat and in relation to all of our trips in a very efficient and professional manner. As a family of five travelling and experiencing the many amazing historical sites in and around Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan and Abu Simbel we were very impressed with Ehab’s knowledge, language, love for his country and his very considerate manner in dealing with us all. We learned a lot and were given time to ourselves to really experience the sense of history in the places we visited. We had three other guides from the same company - Meeting Point - for a trip to Cairo, snorkelling in the red sea (Hurghada) and safari in the desert. They were all very professional and good fun to be with, which made a real difference when travelling with kids/ teenagers. We also felt safe on all of our travels. The Egyptians make a huge effort to look after their tourist visitors safety and wellbeing.

There are many ways to experience the Nile, but certainly a place where one must spend some time while in Egypt. Our two favorites are walking on the Corniche in Garden City or watching the sunset over the Nile at a riverside restaurant. Any weekend (Thurs or Fri Night) the corniche is outstanding for people watching and there are multiple restaurants in the major hotels to watch the sunset. We have enjoyed the Intercontinental Semi-Ramis for late snacks and/or dinner and Four Seasons. We have not yet tried the Holiday In rooftop restaurant (closer to Maadi), but it is on our list.

Finally, felucca rides- certainly an outstanding experience to watch the sunset, but the haggling and constant bother looking for upsell throughout the trips is exhausting. Worth the effort, just mentally prepare yourself for constant pushback.

Fantastic time had by all the family, good choice of food available even for myself who can be picky.
Staff excellent and cannot be faulted nothing is too much trouble.
I would recommend upgrading to all inclusive drinks package if you like a drink as I imagine if you were getting billed this could be rather expensive and I don’t mind one or two 😜.
Scenery absolutely fantastic either sat on deck or chilling in your room at balcony.
Excursion package really good if you want to visit everything on offer.
Our guide Ehab was brilliant very engaging and very knowledgable if you get him as your guide he cannot do enough for you and doesn’t mind answering as many questions as you throw at him which me and the family did 🤣. We really enjoyed our time on The Royal Viking and would definitely recommend.

Our tour included 4 nights stay on a 5* deluxe cruise liner, travelling from Luxor to Aswan.
It is a very wonderful way to see the Nile and watch the life of people near the river. Egyptian has an interesting way to sell their products to the cruise travellers. They attach their small boat to the cruise ship and display their ware from the boat. Once someone on board indicated interest, the salesmen would hurl the product up to the cruise deck. What a creative salesmanship!
The staff of MS Premium Nile cruise were very friendly and helpful. They tried all ways to delight passengers. One afternoon we were pleasantly surprised to find 2 loving swans on our bed. On another day, we walked into a ninja turtle hanging from the ceiling of our room. A nice cute crocodile was found lying on our bed after we returned from our visit to the crocodile museum in Aswan. On one day, we were surprised to find cookies in our room. The rooms were clean and spacious. We even have a long bath. The spread of food served was good.
It is a very comfortable way to cruise the Nile and at the same time visit the many interesting and historical places along the river.

We are a large group of 16 children and 15 adults, who wanted to book a nice nile cruise and take the kids to visit upper egypt and get a glimpse of their ancient culture. The cruise is very nicely furnished, but since we have arrived the staff has been very hostile towards the kids. They didnt want any of the kids moving around, nor playing. At one point the "lovely" cruise manager was suggesting we put all 16 kids in a 1 sq room :D. Despite the fact that we had some board games and had stationed them around three tables to try and help. We explained to them that this is not possible and that these are kids and need some space and that if they dont want children then they shouldn't have accepted our reservation, despite the fact that they specifically asked for the kids ages when we were booking through a travel agency.
We had request some nice rooms, which we thought we got until the boat started moving at 3 AM. They have us rooms on top of the engines. The noise and vibration inside the room is unbelievable! Both my 8 year old and I have not slept for a moment since 3 am, knowing we have strat our visits at 6 am. Moreover, it really smells like gases inside the room, and my son started coughing terribly! I tried to ask them to move us and they of course said they didnt have any other rooms. One of the worst experiences ever! I has taken the sun sanctuary a couple if years back and it was a lovely experience . This however is one of the worst by far. I have a documented video of the noise and vibration inside my room. Unfortunately trip advisor doesnt allow video uploads, but am happy to share with whomever wants to see.

I was dreaming about a Nile Cruise ever since I was a child, so the expectations were incredibly high and Mayflower thoroughly lived up to all those romantic, luxury expectations. Starting with the stylish decor, in the Ottoman style, to the gourmet food experience, which was above and beyond anything we ate in an all-inclusive luxury hotel, to the incredibly sweet and gracious staff, to whom nothing was too much. For example, we wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving on the cruise and they made turkey just for us. Then, our guide told us that duck was Egyptian national food: so they made the most tender duck in citrus sauce as well, upon his request. We also got a tour of the spotlessly clean kitchen and a class on artistic veggie carving from Chef Wael who is a true artist! The staff in the dining room managed to make my dour teenage son smile and rack his brain over toothpick puzzles. We also loved spending time on the upper deck: jacuzzi was not hot in Nov, but I could sit there for hours, watching the verdant shores and fabulous sunsets over the river. Actually, I felt that we needed a few more days on the cruise (although with all the excellent food, it would not do any favors to our weight;). The tours were fantastic, but we had a private guide provided by our amazing tour agency, Luxor and Aswan tours. The ship is also shining clean--they literally shine all the wood paneling daily! The towel animals were so fun! Overall, great value and fantastic times on M/S Mayflower!

Incredible experience. Service from everyone onsite was unparalleled. Meals were superb; chef special, menu items and buffet at every meal. Prepared beautifully. Complimentary wine, beer at every lunch and dinner that staff was very willing to keep pouring. MS Antares was gorgeous with classic beauty. Small enough that we met everyone. The itinerary was perfect. Had worried about not enough time at each site but it was just right every time. When the new museum opens in Cairo may need increased time there. Egypt was very safe. Tourists are highly prized there. Had rides on camels, horse and buggy, sail and motor boats as well as hot air balloons if we wanted.

Most impressive was out program director, Ahmed. He had an amazing bank of knowledge of all things Egyptian which he enthusiastically shared. He ensured we all had the experience we wanted while "watching over" the group. Cannot say enough about his impact on our trip.

Wasn't very happy with Viking initially when booking. Not quite enough thourough communication for first time travelers abroad. COVID bulls__t, didn't help. Also could not get "Silver Seas" premium alcohol package for myself as my husband does not drink and is only available if both parties in a room purchase. However the hotel manager on Antares addressed this with me immediately and it turned out great. Also not happy we were booked at hotel with casino in Cairo which was not negotiable per customer service.

Once we reached Cairo and met Ahmed and all the other incredible people in Egypt, everything turned out to far exceed my expectations.

If I should use only one word to describe our Nile cruise, it would be "fabulous".

We had a delightful four days cruising from Aswan to Luxor. En route, we did all the major sights, the most "fun" was the Temple of Kom-Ombo. "Fun" because the temple was right beside the river so we only had to walk a few steps after we disembarked from the boat.

The Blue Shadow is a cosy boat with one restaurant and a lounge bar. There is a gift shop and a small sundry shop plus a massage room. Give the massage a miss as the masseuse is inexperienced and totally unskilled - that was the only black mark on our cruise.

The food selection was not extensive but bear in mind, this is a boat, not a ship. However, the quality of the food makes up for it. We had excellent meals and the staff, especially the restaurant staff and housekeeping staff, were wonderful and helpful. All our meals (daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and an afternoon tea on the sundeck!) were included in our room package and guests were allocated their own table in the restaurant, which we thought was a good concept.

Our room was the Royal Suite and it was spacious even with an extra bed;,airy and bright. The bathroom shower comes with a jetted tub, a rain shower, and a hand-held shower. The only thing we didn't like was the height of the tub. For someone standing only 5' 2", I had to be careful climbing in and out. Senior guests might have a problem.

If we should return to Egypt, it will only be for another cruise on the Nile.
