The sphinx is another great piece of craftsmanship of which the Ancient Egyptians were so good at. Carved out of one piece of limestone and still very much intact, despite some erosion. This is right next to the pyramids and easy to visit. You can also visit the mortuary temple which is right next door.

For some reason I thought this would be bigger than it was but it was none the less impressive! You will see it if you go to the Pyramids of Giza. Definitely don't miss gazing at this huge sculpture!

Worth a quick look, but don't expect to spend more that 30-60 minutes there. Sphinx is in a small fenced off compound.

Too many people trying to haggle you to buy stuff which are way over priced. We come from the uk but currently live in Alexandria Egpyt so know a little about how much things cost, here the price wasn't just doubled but TRIPLED!! People are constantly bothering you.

Right in front of the Pyramid of Giza you, this is another must see you should spend some time with. Similar to the Pyramid, you shouldn't come without a guide, or this will be just a giant piece of rock you can look at. It is the history that make it special make sure you hire someone to tell you... More

Looks huge but that's because it is always in pictures with the Pyramids in the background. The pyramids are huge, the Sphinx's face is only 14 feet wide and tip of the paws to tail 200 feet long.

Definitely worth seeing and clearly a reason people visit Egypt. Shame it's only open from. 9-5. Early opening would be better.
