We have viewed Egyptial oblequists all over the world. It was very interesting to see how they were crafted and made!

I think visiting here in the winter would be more fun, due to the heat we never left the van but could see the obelisk from the street. May its far to hot to clamber over the rocks

The famous ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ which still lay in the granite quarries of Aswan, which provided ancient Egypt with building materials is a must see event. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled, but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned...More

Compared to other temples and attractions closeby, this one is pretty average. Can skip it if you are short for time.

It's ok to visit the unfinished obelisk, but i was disappointed. I thought it was an unfinished standing obelisk (i didnt research it in the first place), but it was just laying. i didnt find interesting to visit this place at all

Visited the unfinished obelisk. The site lacks shade and gets very hot. Seeing the obelisk proper requires some climbing and this proved difficult for some in our tour group. If you get above the obelisk you can clearly see how it was cut. Impressive.

This site is easily accessible from the Nubian museum by crossing the Muslim cemetery in between. Some may just see a pile of rocks but it is a real insight on the work being done to feed the whole valley in materials. Everywhere you go...More

A visit to a granite quarry to see an unfinished obelisk may not sound very interesting--but turns out to be fascinating, providing insight into obelisk construction methods and the workers who used them. The site also features some very old rock paintings.

All the Egyptian obelisks were created at this quarry and it was interesting to see how they carved it out of the granite. The site itself is not that big but it is quite exposed to the sun and the heat. Its well worth a...More

We went to see this place early in the morning, but the sun was already hot. One has to make an uphill climb through uneven stones to see this unfinished job done in the New Kingdom era. You can see this gigantic unfinished stonework and...More

THB, I do not recall seeing anyone walking upon it. IIRC, it was cordoned off when I was there. But, truthfully, I don't recall. It was an uphill hike for a middle aged fat guy, I was probably too busy huffing and... More
