Private Day Tour to Abu Simbel Temples from Aswan

90 reviews
The Abu Simbel Temples, two majestic sandstone structures, stand reflected in the waters of Lake Nasser. It’s a long drive from Aswan, so enjoy the comfort of a private vehicle direct from your door. Learn about Ramses II, his wife Nefertari, the love goddess Hathor, and the flooding of the Nile from your private Egyptologist guide. Return to Aswan in the late afternoon.

As a solo traveler I wanted to enjoy a quiet afternoon, but this was ruined by the kids in the park whose parents teach them to be beggars! At first they just said hi, but later their parents teach them to ask for baksheesh(money) or money in English. I don’t know why these parents teach their kids to be beggars and keeps pestering me and that makes this quiet garden lose its charm. No one around except for a few students stopped them. Not recommend if you are a foreign solo traveler

This is a good sized park, next to the Old Cataract Hotel, with good views over the Nile and Elephantine Island. It costs E£10. It used to be free but I suppose it helps pay for the gardeners. The main thing about the park is that it is hassle-free, there was no one trying to sell anything or offering to guide you. A very pleasant change from the streets just outside the gates. The park is built on a granite hill. It's multi-level with winding paths and terraces overlooking the Nile. It seemed to be mostly local people who use it, I think we were the only tourists there. There's plenty of seats, shaded or sunny. Take an hour or two off and watch the bees, butterflies, birds etc.

Beautiful garden in one of the best locations in Aswan with superb views. Only a wall separates it from the legendary Old Cataract. It is on a hill overlooking Nile and Aswan island. Need better wash rooms.

Waking over to the Feryal Garden gave us very scenic Nile and Elephantine Island views. It’s a nice spot to watch the sun go down. Enjoy!

For 10 Egyptian pounds you can enter this lovely little park overlooking the Nile and Elephantine Island. It is not a tourist spot, when we were there it was full of Egyptian families having picnics and enjoying the fresh air. There are fantastic views over the Nile, very good at sunset, you can watch feluccas, motor boats and local fishing boats negotiate the islands below or just people watch.
