Private Day Tour to Abu Simbel Temples from Aswan

90 reviews
The Abu Simbel Temples, two majestic sandstone structures, stand reflected in the waters of Lake Nasser. It’s a long drive from Aswan, so enjoy the comfort of a private vehicle direct from your door. Learn about Ramses II, his wife Nefertari, the love goddess Hathor, and the flooding of the Nile from your private Egyptologist guide. Return to Aswan in the late afternoon.

This is situated in the City itself, on a rock, hence it can be seen from distance. It looks majestic and beautifully constructed. All Muslims gather here for their prayers. If you have some time worth a visit.

Saw this as we were cruising the Nile, didn't get a chance to go here. It has twin minarets which stand apart in the Aswan skyline.

Views of the Aswan Mosque - El-Tabia - were very picturesque with its two towering minarets perfectly balancing its symmetrical landscape signature. Nice aspect of local color & significance. Enjoy!

It is called El Tabia (the fort) because there used to be a fortress on this hill. A relatively new building from 1974 in Mamluk style with a huge dome and minarets. Inside alabaster decorations and high above stained glass windows. Worth a visit not only because of the architecture, but also because it is on an elevation and you get a good view over the poor neighborhoods of the city. The mosque is surrounded by a park that could be better maintained. Inside the mosque there is a cupboard with books and brochures on Islam in different languages.
