On a recent trip to Masai Mara we stayed at Fig Tree Camp where Adventures Aloft offers morning balloon rides over the savannah. Here's why we loved it with accompanying photos. Mada Hotels specializes in balloon trips over East African wildlife with operations at Masai Mara, Serengeti and Tarangire reserves. The trips are by no means cheap - $450.00 USD... More

Another suprise from my love! woke up so early, didn't know where we were going, took a one hour ride in the savana, stopped for a coffee, then another ride, came over a hill to see a giant baloon being inflated... What a moment! What a ride! To see the sunrise above the Mara plains was spectacular. Floating above the... More

Wow we loved every minute of this! We arrived, had coffee and cake, then watched the balloon fire up. We had four people on our basket which had plenty of space for us to move around. Our pilot, captain Barnabas was fantastic, he knew where all the animals were and could easily spot them for us! We saw elephants, giraffes,... More

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had, our pilot Barnabas was great, very professional and his sense of humour made the ride even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Adventures Aloft to anyone travelling to Kenya as it is a must do for your bucket list !

My best mate and I were travelling Kenya and Rwanda for Christmas and NYE. I had done hot air ballooning before back home in Australia but my best friend had not and it was on her bucket list so I organised a small surprise for her. Ilkeliani Camp arranged it for me within a single day of notice as my... More

An amazing sunrise trip low over the Serengeti ....we saw a leopard stalk a buffalo calf, zebras, elephants and hippos in the Mara River. We skimmed over the trees and had a birds' eye view of the vast Serengeti - an amazing morning. All the team were so professional and Serkan looked after us with great skill .....do it ....its... Our balloon had 14 people in it. There were 7 along each long side. When the balloon took off, my spouse and I were on the back side. In other words, we were facing backwards and could see where we had been, rather than where we were going. I could turn around and look at the backs of the heads... More

Very professional company, we ranked this experience amongst our top five during our time throughout various parts of Africa. The pilot Serkan was very experienced and made the trip incredibly fun by swooping low to see crocodiles up close, then rising far above the treetops to see raptures nests. Ballooning is clearly his passion, he loves his job and this... More

DTue to a mix up with our agent we ended up flying with Adventures Aloft. It was a very early morning as we were an hour away. The trip was well worth it. Serkan was our pilot and he was very good and a good laugh. The ride is so smooth and the sunrise is amazing. It can be hard... More
