We loved the arty feel of the place. Lots to see and do here especially if you like art but you can appreciate the area even if art is not your thing. We did get a bit confused in the many streets and often couldn't work out if we were going over old ground. Saw more Westerners here than anywhere... More

very big place with many different kinds of gallerias and shops. A bit disappointment is that many small and big Galleries charges $5-50 RMB entrance fee. And the quality of the art is not too excited. But can spend a relaxing afternoon there ps. art lover, wish to see great art work, so maybe over expected

An old factory turned into a series galleries, bars and restaurants, this place is great for spending an afternoon on something completely different in Beijing. Plan you visit as the setup can change(i.e. The gallery list is different from the tourist signs). Also, this place is pretty far from nearest metro, so expect 10-15 min walk to here.

This is an old industrial and factory area that has been converted into a arts and cultural area featuring all different mediums of contemporary art. There is something for everyone here. The area is very clean and safe with a lot of young people exploring, creating and enjoying what this area has to offer. There are several restaurants and cafes... More

Went here with the Kaiser on a Tuesday May 9, 2017 in the afternoon/evening none of the galleries appeared to be open, not really buzzing like I expected an art district to be just quiet, the shops were so so. However we did have some amazing beers and sweet potato fries at RAM Brewpub and DELICIOUS Gelato (name forgotten) -... More

The 798 Art Zone between fourth and fifth ring roads in northeastern Beijing has a little bit of something for everyone. Roaming Chinese and foreigners soaking up a broad range of art exhibits -- some free, some not, some outdoors, some indoors, some high quality by well-established artists, some by up-and-comer unknowns. Cafes also sprinkle the approximately 12-block sprawling Art... More

I've lived in Beijing off and on for many years, but never visited the 798 Zone. An artist friend from the States asked me to take her there, and I enjoyed the experience. We spent time in both the straightforward exhibit spaces and galleries selling stuff, and ate tasty but overpriced noodles in pleasant surroundings. I liked the graffiti and... More
