I've been to Beijing several times but never visited the Panjiayuan Antique Market. Perhaps to a first time visitor to China this would be fantastic. But to a seasoned visitor I was quite disappointed. Although it's always fun looking through the various objects for sale...More

This was the first place I went when I arrived in Beijing. I loved it. So much to look at. Had a great time haggling over necklaces. Not sure if I came out a winner but I loved everything a bought. I would recommend coming...More

Went back to this market five times during our 10day stay in Beijing. So much to look at. Yes perhaps you have to be discerning when it comes to choosing your "antique" only buy what you really like and you shouldn't go far wrong. The...More

I've been coming here for more than 20 years and while it has been done up more properly over time, it still is a lot of fun. It doesn't matter whether you come mid-weeks, when there are less people, or in the weekends, when the...More

Antique is a bit of and exaggeration. Nick nacks more likely. I wouldn't recognize any Chinese antiques probably. But this doesn't strike me as an antique market. There are differently zones with different goods. But also different price areas. You have the area where the...More

My son and I loved this place. There are all kinds of interesting trinkets that make unique souvenirs and don't break the bank. My son is 13 and loved it. It is huge. Lots of walking. Worth making the trip and having the experience.

Having been to some great weekend markets throughout Asia I was pretty keen to visit this one. There is a lot of semi precious stones and beads for sale. Like heaps! Rows upon rows of vendors with the same product as the person next to...More

Even mid week this is a hoot. So many stalls focussing primarily on semi precious stones. But there are prints and some antiques (but only some) but no carpets as promised by LPG. The Shard Box Store is there and recommended. Is this the one...More
