Today I visited the Great Wall @ Badaling. It is extremely touristy & even busy out of season. The wall is something special and must be visited. The older parts of the Great Wall are closed to tourists so we visited the section rebuilt and restored five hundred years ago. My it was steep but managed to climb to the peak on this occasion. This was one of the greatest experiences of my life. To be able to have an opportunity to walk on the Great Wall, one of the worlds great wonder's of the world. I've climbed the steps up and down Santorini but this was far steeper! That said, do it! This is truly a wonder of the world not to be missed. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes and of course, your camera.
