Just standing on this iconic Square makes you think of all the scenes you have seen or heard of that occurred here. It was very busy and there is no shade - something that needs consideration if you are here in the summer.

It’s not what you see but rather what you feel that will stay with you long after walking around the square. We were there just a short while before a visit by Angela Merkel and got to see it almost without other people making it...More

Everyone has heard of this square so don't miss the opportunity of seeing it when in the area. The square is immense and a great place to "people watch". The buildings and monuments around its perimeter are the most interesting part of the square: the...More

Lots going on in the square and it is very, very big. Nice for a short visit on the way to the forbidden city but what needs to be remembered is that it is a square so will be crowded.

First time in Beijing to see the biggest square in the world, capacity of one million people. Takes hours to walk round the square. Love the open space.

This was the first site we visited, lots of walking, lots of people, take water and don't ask about the TANK. We learnt the hard way. Young Children wanted their photos taken with us, why I don't know, but itwas sweet.

A must see if your in Beijing. Be prepared to go through several security checks and have your passport or ID to get in. It’s a big place.
