This is one of the side streets near the Qianmen Street. It's more catered to locals with interesting stores and snack shops. It's not far from Zhengyang Gate so it's worth your time to come here for a stroll.

Still a great street with traditional stores. Incredible silks, beautiful Chinese dresses. Traditional cutlery shop worth a visit. Go to the shoe shop where Mao got his sewn, very traditional sewn soles still available. Very handy to Qianmen subway.

Cute small street in an oldfashion style. Very hard to find it without English-Chinese map, almost no one on the streets around the Tiananmen square knew about it. If you have enough time or gap between visiting the main attractions you may include this street...More

Although the tacky souvenir shops are creeping in here, there are still some good traditional shops still. I bought a pair of Chinese cloth shoes (with the traditional stitched soles) from Buyingzhai, who have been making shoes and hats since the mid-19th century. They have...More

After rebuilding the street, the street is no longer the old beijing style with the old residents. Now it is simply a commercial street with fake Beijing traditional stores

Nice street to walk around in. Seeing old teahouses and teashops a long with other typical local shops. Close to Tian'anmen Square. Side (alley)streets are also very worth seeing.
