One can't avoid feeling sorry for the animals. Better not to have a zoo than to have it like this. The zoo was empty on a weekday. Entrance fees are ridiculously low, which may be part of the problem

We travelled with a group organised by Sinorama tours and because of our strict scedule we didn't spend much time in the zoo. Our goal was to see pandas and so we did. All of them were outside so we could see the pandas very good. Unfortunatly we didn't had the time to visit more of the zoo

Tthe upstream Yangtze River cruise from Jingzhou ends in Chongqing. Aside from the super spicy hot foods in Chongqing (they'll burn your palate), the Chongqing zoo has a special Giant Panda zoo where a number of the giant pandas were on display. We came at about 10:00 AM and the pandas have to be awaken from their lair since it... More

We didn't get enough time here unfortunately to see all of the zoo so we concentrated on the Giant Pandas and we weren't disappointed. We were luck enough to see most of the pandas eating and playing. They were wonderful. It certainly was a great experience.

This was my first time seeing these beautiful animals and they put a quite a show. As much as I was disturbed to see these wonderful pandas behind bars , I had to admit they seemed oblivious to us the tourists and the bars as they happily chomped their bamboo. We learned how difficult it is for them to survive... More

I'm not a fan of zoos. I don't enjoy seeing animals caged but although the enclosures were small and had cement floors, the panda exhibit wasn't too bad. All pandas were out pacing in their enclosures and munching bamboo. Our guide assured us they like walking the same path for their exercise, I'm doubtful. If this zoo had a more... More

A nice day out and many animals to look at. Sad the Giant Pandas were sleeping when we visited. Recommend a visit

The pandas are the stars here, and there are several of them sitting around all day, munching bamboo. The cages for the carnivores held the saddest, most depressing creatures I have seen. But everyone comes out with their families, and it is a very lively place. Avoid the bathrooms, they are dirty and stink like a sewer, making one gag... More

We went to the zoo to see the panda exhibit. It was raining that day, but we still managed to see the pandas and the babies. The zoo is very big and is like most zoos in any major city.

The pandas were the big draw for me, although I'm not sure their enclosures were great. I don't know how far they travel in the wild - they were eating when we arrived and sleeping when we left. The video feed for the babies wasn't working. The planting is beautiful everywhere, but then you notice the rats. Especially in the... More
