Visited here as part of our 5 day Yangtze River Cruise. Lots of steps so would be quite uncomfortable during summer. It was warm enough when we went in October. It was packed with locals as we were there during China's National Holiday Week. There...More

Fengdu dates back over 1000 years and is full of images, statues, figurines , etc all representing residents of the spirit (after life) world. The walk up to the top level is rather strenuous.

This was probably my least favourite of the different excursions we did along the Yangtze. Visiting temples isn't my thing whilst it was interesting to learn a little about some of the traditional Chinese beliefs it was very dark with some not so nice things...More

It's a neat place to learn a little more about Taoist and Buddhist beliefs. The temple complex is actually a replica of the original, which was sadly razed during the Cultural Revolution. So although most of it dates back to only the last 10-20 years,...More

This was an interesting visit where you learn quite a lot about the ancient Chine culture. We loved all the antidotes and stories about past lifes and believes.

Beware, lots of steps, over 400 so you need to be mobile. Very interesting place and explained in great details by our informative guide.

There is a need to walk up the slope and steps to get to the temple. The history behind the statues are colourful, and it would be advantageous if you can get a guide to explain.

Learned a lot about China and its ghosts and enjoyed the many temple and display areas. Lots of touristy opportunities and you will be photographed there at one spot and they will try and sell you the photo. We bought it since it was a...More
