You can see most of it from the cable so that you dont have to break in to a sweat. It will take you up and over it and at the Village you can walk back. The walk is very strenuous so you must be physically fit to do the walk

Great place for walking. Especially as my son lives in Hong Kong & has 2 very lively dogs called Cash & Miso. We walk for hours & the dogs love it. Lantau is not just where the airport is it's much much more. Go & bust for yourself. Especially if you like keeping fit.

Experience the beautiful countryside of Hong Kong. Easy to reach various trails by bus from Tung Chung. The best place (except Sai Kung) to walk in tranquility and peace in Hong Kong

The Lantau trail is great and has a number of different sections but this time it was so hot and sunny we just stuck to the cable car, Budda and wisdom path rather than climbing in the heat.

Lantau has an abundance of trails to enjoy. The Lantau trail has numerous sections and something for everybody. Perfect starting point is the Big Buddha which can be reached by Gondolo or Bus.

There was a long queue to take the cable cars as cable cars were not operational due to bad weather. I did not wait for the cable car but took a bus service to the park without wasting time. Finally I took the cable car on my way back to see the beautiful country park. You need at least three... More

We had four days in Hong Kong and spent one whole day on Lantau Island. Plan on 5-6 hours round trip to see Big Buddha. Add another 2-3 hours to visit Tai O fishing village or do some hiking in the area. Big Buddha is very accessible with MTR from anywhere arriving at Tung Chung Station, exit B. The cable... More

The island itself has no English speaking restaurant owners. We went on a freezing morning as the village was waking up. Popped into a local eatery with the classic buckets of water for the dishes near our table. It is all part of the cultural experience . Pointing to the closes thing that looks edible on the menu was our... More

I recommend you travel one way on a glass bottomed chairlift and a normal chairlift on your return. There is a difference in cost so to minimise the cost one way on a glass bottom lift is all you need. Worth the ride and the views. Don't forget your camera.
