We stopped here as part of a half day city sightseeing tour. We had an organised trip around the harbour on a sampan. Interesting to see life on the harbour from a water perspective. Worth doing.

We took the metro here. Walked around fish and meat market stalls to see what people were buying. I have never seen so many fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, and fresh meat together. One can buy the fish and have it cooked in one of the restaurants on the second floor. Fantastic. We walked on the edge of the water. There... More

Aberdeen is a mix of mostly large pleasure craft and many size fishing boats from small sampans to large family fishing enterprises. There are 2 floating seafood restaurants in the same location. The best way to see the village is to take one of the many tourist boats that will wind among the anchored fishing boats. Recommend, Hope this helps.

We took a bus from our hotel to Aberdeen. We loved the sampan ride through the waterways filled with the simplest of sampan homes to the million dollar yachts. A fascinating part of the city.

I expected something older and more traditional. Instead the harbor is surrounded by high-rise apartments. I guess that many of the old boats in the harbour are traditional as people obviously live there. Lots of black kites (birds) flying overhead which I found exciting.

A traditional fishing village, now making much more income oit of tourism (to be expected, I suppose). Just about worth the trip but included in many sightseeing tours.

Aberdeen harbour is full of fishing junks which float side-by-side with yachts costing millions. part of the harbour is dominated by the Jumbo floating restaurant reached by a ferry service from the pier. Several enterprising fishermen now trawl for tourists , giving them a 20-minute tour of the harbour in a sampan for 60 HK dollars. It's great value and... More
