If you're seeking some quiet from the hustle of hong Kong Island or Kowloon then this is a great place for respite. A 25 minutes trip from Central lands you in a very relaxed part go HK. On certain Saturdays there's a local market mainly crafts. There's some great restaurants and last time we tried Koh TomYum and Solera (Spanish... More

In Discovery Bay November, we did an adventure race called Team Fear. Me, Finn and Duncan were in a team called team Trident. We had some difficulties through the way such as ankle pain or knee pain. The easiest part was climbing the big river which was around the start of the race. There were many positives during the race.... More

This place is like no other in HK, with a resort feel and complete peace and quiet. The plaza is lovely, with many restaurants and bars to choose from. The only reason I've not given it the full 5* is because it feels about as HK-like as you'd expect it to be: a Westerners' playground, set away from the city.... More

Discovery Bay is definitely out of the way from typical Kowloon, but has a real charm to it. The restaurants are upper class and they often times have deals where you take the ferry back for free! It also has some nice, romantic night views. Recommended for those who want to get out of the Kowloon madness for a bit.

If you are feeling tired of concrete and steel, the Discovery Bay Ferry is a perfect break from the hum drum of city life. The ferry is large, clean, an air conditioned. On arrival at Discovery bay there is a welcoming plaza with a good choice of restaurants along the sea front. The beach is clean and there is a... More

I went there to do a hike from Discovery Bay to Mui Woo. However before the hike we stopped at one of the restaurants on the water front. It was a very pleasant area to have some food, relax and enjoy the nice scenery of the bay. Also, unlike most areas of HK, Discovery Bay is quieter.

Having read many of the reviews on here about Discovery Bay I have to agree that, whilst there isn't a long list of things to do as some have said, that is part of the charm of this part of Hong Kong. If you want the constant `buzz`, then stay on the HK mainland where you will certainly see enough... More

Considering its so close to mainland HK it's incredibly quiet. The beach was deserted except joggers and dog walkers. But apart from peace and nice surroundings there's nothing to do. Just cafes and restaurants. would be good for a quiet lunch. Ferry was from pier 3. About 15 mins. Cost 40 hkd each way

No cars are allowed here, only a couple of public buses and taxicabs, which must pass through metal gates guarded by military in order to enter. Our cabbie had to sign his name and receive a piece of paper, which he then had to scan on a monitor when he exited. The place is weird and deserted. A sort of... More

The perfect place to visit for food, drinks, walking, hiking, running, golf cart racing, and general chilling. Sit back, enjoy the view and relax.
