Many people mistakenly think Hong Kong is all high rises and shopping - but you'd be wrong. It's worth spending the time to go the geopark and see the various rock natural formations and lovely blue/green waters. As many have pointed out, if you go to the geopark you need to plan your transportation carefully. What I did was join... More

Must go place if you like outdoor places. Views are spectacular and we were lucky that the weather was great. Have to bring bottled water as there are no shops on the 10km trail walk.

I really enjoyed my visit here. I would have liked to spend more time at the volcano centre and to have a guided tour, but it was too busy and so I took a bus from sai kung to pak tam chung then a taxi to go directly to the east dam and the geopark, I then walked back along... More

If you love nature and enjoy scenic tours then a boat tour around Hong Kong Geopark is a must go. I am a local myself and this is my first trip. I was very impressed and amazed with this beautiful natural scene. To get there, take a cab to Sai Kung, the pier is in the center next to the... More

Its rare to see such vast areas of nature's wonders in a busy city like hong kong. It has one of the best hexagonal volcanic rock columns in the world, including other geological features.

My GF and I visited there on Sunday and found it difficult to find some information prior to going. We went to the East Dam section. Some useful things I learned. -There are many parts of the Geopark and all cannot be seen in a day. -You cannot drive past Sai Kung Park's visitor Center. -Your options to get to... More

There are two places on earth that you can view wonderful hexagonal rock columns. Hexagonal columns found on HK Geopark are tall and big. While those in the Giant's Causeway are relatively short, you can walk and sit on them, feel and touch them at ease. In my view, both are wonderful places. For those who have seen the unique... We took the MTR to Choi Hun and then a bus to Sai kung and a taxi onwards. We got dropped off and then walked to the High island reservoir and across the dam end. Here there are amazing geological formations of hexagonal rock columns - a little like the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. Take water for this trek... More

We took the boat trip from the volcanic discovery centre. Booked online, everything very professionally handled and yes most of the people on our trip were local or Chinese speaking. We felt quite special having most of the attention from the two English speaking guides. The boat trip is lovely, much more scenic than I had imagined and we were... More

My family and I spent a great 4 hours in the Hong Kong Global Geopark - 1 hour inside the Hong Kong Global Geopark Volcano Discovery Centre followed by 3 hours on a double deck boat touring the Sai Kung volcanic islands (Sai Kung Volcanic Rock Region Sea Tour). Getting There: Take MTR to Diamond Hill Station, exit the station... More
