Recommended by Hong Kong Tourism Board and led by true locals born and raised in this gastronomic mecca, Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Tours offers unique, small-group walking tours to help you explore Hong Kong's culinary culture. Our mission is to lead hungry souls from around the world to wander off the beaten path and taste some of Hong Kong's favorite foods. We have researched throughout the city, tried numerous eateries, talked to restaurant owners, before putting together an itinerary that features many of the locals' most-loved foods. Along our excursion, your Foodie guide will also lead you to discover some of Hong Kong's other flavors - its history, culture, architecture and neighborhoods. We will also show you some of Hong Kong's unique features and what makes our hometown so special. Our goal is for everyone to return to these neighborhoods with confidence and take advantage of the wide range of food and cultural options that our city has to offer. We are the only food tour company licensed by the Hong Kong Travel Agents Registry and we are a member of Travel Industry Council and Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents. All our Foodie guides are also licensed tour guides. There are other tours I would recommend prior to this one but they were booked. Still for about $100US I expected more. The tour is about 3.5 hours and covers 6 stops to learn about food and culture. Our guide Yammy was cheerful and helpful, but after the fourth place, the stories started to get repetitive and this food curing... More

I did the central food tour with yammy. She's a great tour guide and very accommodating! I like her a lot and really enjoyed her stories and presence. I give 5 stars for Yammy. What made me give this tour only 3 stars is because I feel this tour is too overpriced. It's also a little tiring.. There was a... More

Just spent a fascinating afternoon with Yammy. Our guide for the foodie tour. Four hours of fascinating history and delicious food. We visited 6 places and sampled a variety of different types of food and restaurants. We started with wonton noodles and finished with custard tart. Yammy took us to restaurants we would never have found on our own and... More

This was a perfect way to get to try lots of local delicacies without researching on our own for hours. Yammy was an awesome guide and I definitely felt like she took us to local, authentic places. There were no other foreigners to be found in the restaurants we visited! A highlight for me was visiting the wet market and... More

I routinely take food tours/cooking classes in the cities that I visit and this was easily one of the best I've ever experienced. Our group only had three guests, so it was easy for Carrie, our warm, funny, friendly guide, to tailor the experience. If we wanted to pause briefly to pick up a souvenir or snap a picture, we... I did the Sham Shui Po tour with Carrie last week and it was excellent. She was a lovely character and the food places we visited really took me out of comfort zone and surprised me. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend.

We had a great tour with Yammy! Apart from eating delicious food she was excellent at providing lots of information about customs, the local culture, history and the Hong Kong way of life. Yammy has a great sense of humour, keeping us entertained throughout the tour. This is a must do tour! You won't find some of Hong Kong's secret... More

Our guide Yammy was absolutely wonderful, and so professional and friendly even in a huge rain storm. She didn't let that dampen the mood or stop us. She is so knowledgeable about the food scene in Hong Kong. We tasted such a wide variety of local food, even our 10yo son enjoyed it. We would have liked more opportunity to... More

We absolutely loved our foodie tour of Cheung Wan and Central. This is so much more than a food tour - our guides Silvana and Emcee led us through the back streets of this cosmopolitan and historical area and taught us loads about the history of Hong Kong and the risks posed to traditional, family-run restaurants and food stalls. Their... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
