The Bird Garden is a horrible place. Many shops and stalls selling beautiful birds, but virtually all of them are kept in the most appalling conditions - 20 budgerigars in a cage suitable for one, cockatoos and small parrots so squashed in that they can't move. A seriously sad place that would be instantly shut down in the UK.

Nothing special except for the beautiful singing of all the birds. Hated to see them all in cages and unable to fly. Don't get the appeal.

Bird market is a must i Hong Kong. Colorful birds in nice cages. Living insects as birdfood. The flower market is close as and additional visit.

This was a pretty cool sight to see. I got tons of cool pictures. The street feels very old school like you've rewound time 50 years. If you like laid back cultural walks with some sights, this is for you.

Culturally you wouldn't get this in the UK as it would be deemed as cruel but in the context of hong kong it's an experience not to be missed. Birds of every shape and size. Sit and people watch as the local barter and swap birds or simply bring their best birds to be admired.

We went for some takeaway dim sum at nearby One Dim Sum restaurant and brought it to this park. Bird hobbyists bring their birds here for airing, showcasing and comparing. Very amusing to see and spend some time here.

Birds are a vey popular pet in such a crowded city and the variety here is awesome. there were lots of birds for sale and while we could not buy, it was really worth a look. This is right at the end of the Flower Market street, just up from the pet market, link them together.

This was a total beautiful well time spent while walking around the area. The place was so clean that I was shocked. The sounds of the birds were very calming....the weather was cool, but I so not think that was not an issue. Very nice place.

I have to say I am NOT some sort of animal rights activist, but the birds in this place look like they are suffering! It is appalling that these conditions can exist in this day and age. Here is the problem. Some birds, like canaries or parakeets are relatively domesticated and can be kept happily as pets. But, THIS MARKET... More
