Free on wednesdays

I think entry is free on Wednesday- I visited and didn't have to pay. Well worth a visit for an insight into Hong Kong's history via the medium of colour and beautiful displays

I really enjoyed my visit, it is a very accessible museum and the exhibits are really well presented. It appeals to all age groups and is good value for money.

I visited this museum with my eleven year old daughter on her first visit to Hong Kong. It provided an excellent overview of the history of Hong Kong that was fun and engaging, but also very informative. I would recommend it highly as an excellent introduction to the city.

I came here with my class of 10-11 year olds, along with 90 others from my school and there were at least another 300 children from other schools there too. (Apparently this is the norm on any given week day in term-time, so consider that before you visit.) However, not even hundreds of noisy kids running around - not ours... More

This attraction is very well laid out offering detailed information on the development of HK from prehistoric times to present day. The layout in galleries follows the different periods of development and the whole experience is extremely well done. Written text is in Catonese and English providing detailed explanations. There are a number of audio visual presentations offered in different... More

We really enjoyed our visit here today. The museum is nicely put together with the interior of each section matching that particular era. There are lots of information in both Chinese and English and one only have to follow the suggested route not to miss anything. Although it was rather busy, it did not feel crowded. Also love the museum... More

Both my partner and I truly enjoyed visiting the museum and could have stayed there longer. The opium war and when Japan invaded HK are some of the highlights.

What a great free activity, loads to see and could spend hours there. Got a good knowledge and understanding of history. It's also got a lovely gift shop at the end.
