Lamma Island is a 30 minute ferry ride from Central Pier 4. The island is home to a coal-burning power plant in the northwest and wind turbines mid island. Ferries are most frequent to Yung Shue Wan in the northwest. People often hike from there...More

It's no paradise, but sufficient if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beach was kept clean, but the water is full of rubbish. There are lots of trees to escape the scorching sun. The bathroom/changing/shower facilities are...More

Really enjoyed my day trip to Lamma island. The island has a very different vibe, very laid back and chill. I liked the walking path. You not gonna be alone, so don't expect tranquility, but still relaxing!

Lived here for 2 years - brilliant place. Avoid at the weekend when it is full of tourists - plus the queues for the ferry are quite long. Stay the night & enjoy a different side of Lamma.

Nice boat trip, a big Buddha statue, why not and a rather exhausting hike, that is what you will find out in Lamma Island. Worth a trip of course but surely not for those who only have a few days to spare in Hong Kong...More

A short ferry ride to the island and you have a fantastic selection of restaurants to sample the local food and drink. Most have great service and are frequented by locals from Hong Kong. A fantastic place for large groups.

If you're energetic or relatively fit, book in a full day kayak trip with Sea Kayak HK. The kayak trip will definitely give you a background of Lamma Island.

If you take the slow ferry across (only about 20 minutes longer), you will arrive at the town of Sok Kwu Won (I think) with more restaurants. Many are under the same management. Just look in the aquaria until you see the... More
