Lamma Island used to be a nice place to go for a swim or a hike. Not anymore. More and more village houses are being built and construction waste is simply dumped wherever is convenient. The number of tourists has increased exponentially, on weekends and...More

We took a small boat from Aberdeen and the journey took about 35 minutes- fabulous crossing. We came back to Central in the larger ferry which was more commercial but likewise just as good but not so local. Lamma is a great little island to...More

Get away from Hong Kong to a quiet fishing village. Enjoy the walk around the island. There are many places to grab lunch, a few shops etc, very quaint. The flowers are beautiful. We even spotted a giant orb spider in the trees!

You can hike there or just relax on the beach. A good alternative if you want to escape the city. It's only 30 min away by ferry from HK Station.

You don’t need to book a tour. Take a ferry from the Outlying Island Piers in Central and it is a very pleasant walk (no equipment needed) from one side of the island to the other. Take in a seafood meal before taking the ferry...More

If you take the slow ferry across (only about 20 minutes longer), you will arrive at the town of Sok Kwu Won (I think) with more restaurants. Many are under the same management. Just look in the aquaria until you see the... More
