A very worthwhile visit, that is not crowded by tourists!

Lamma Island is a good contract to Hong Kong Central Island and Kwoloon. If you like walks or hikes, its a great place to go. I walked both routes on the Island (Yung Shue Wan to... read more

This is an idyllic island 30/40 minutes from Hong Kong island Pier 4 (near Central MTR) by ferry. It is probably best to take the less frequent ferry to Sok Kwu Wan and walk across the island to Young Shue Wan. This walk takes around an hour and is hilly in places and not always a clear route. Some locals... More

Lamma Island is a good contract to Hong Kong Central Island and Kwoloon. If you like walks or hikes, its a great place to go. I walked both routes on the Island (Yung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan and round the South end of the Island, starting and ending in Sok Kwu Wan). The hikes are good, were not... More

It was a fun day to wander through the village, see the nice beaches and climb the mountains, then meander back down through more villages on your way back to the other boat. Note to self however, keep your octopus card somewhere safe :( Did lots of geocaches on this island too which were fun and I loved watching all... More

Nice light hike trails and few good beaches with bbq areas, but sometimes crowded with tourists and locals during holidays and than its really bad( Seafood restaurants are overpriced really, and quite average, but still fun to have late lunch there with friends during boat day!

Lamma Island is a nice getaway and nice 25-minute scenic ferry ride from Central Pier. This car-free island is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of forever busy Hong Kong and even from the not quite as busy Shenzhen and Guangzhou. A wonderful place for walking on the trails and enjoying all the greenery, plants, trees, scrubs, birds,... More

After all the malls and high rises, visiting Lamma island may be a good change. This sleepy island is home to many expats, thus, it is lined with cafes and bars and after a stroll, you are bound to find something of your liking. Upon arrival, you will come across several "seafood restaurants", take heed as it is a tourist... More

Best way to explore HK outdoor opportunities. Walk from one pier to another and stop for a seafood lunch.

Very fast ride to island. Different way of life on this island as it looks calm except for the visitors. A good walk from one port to another so need to double back to the boat.
