The Lamma Island is easy to reach from HK by ferry front Central. My purpose was to hike the island from the main village Yung Shue Wan to the fishing village Sok Kwu Wan. I would describe the hiking as moderate, even though the trail...More

Lamma can be reached by ferries which travel to several locations. We usually travel from Aberdeen to a small beach village which offers excellent swimming. The island has several small communities which have few shops, but several excellent restaurants. Its seafood restaurants are particularly good.

Took the ferry from Central pier 4, that took 27 minutes. Landed in a small village, Yung Shue Wan, with plenty of eateries and restaurants. Try to choose a place a bit away from the pier, because of many reasons. The first ones can feel...More

I think it will be busy on a long Sat weekend. I don't like crowds at all so if it were me I wouldn't go. But some people don't mind crowds.

If you take the slow ferry across (only about 20 minutes longer), you will arrive at the town of Sok Kwu Won (I think) with more restaurants. Many are under the same management. Just look in the aquaria until you see the... More
