For me this is the area to be in Honk Kong, you don't need Hong Kong Island at all. Here you can do great shopping, eat at good local restaurants and the people will be happy to see you!

You can find the latest products and some very old outdated items. Very busy and crowded. There may be a problem when communicating in English with the sales person in some smaller... More

This is the place that is soaked in HK culture. Wet market, bargain hunting, wholesale shops selling clothes, crafts, etc.

This is the best place to come in HK to buy electronics and all sorts of other stuff...mostly tat but not always. It's busy, smelly and no one gives way but this is what makes it such a unique part of the city. Decent places to eat can be found on side streets here too.

Sham Shui Po is a lovely town showing really Hong Kong people's life. Markets, Nursing home, and Herbal medicine shop all around the the street make it so lively and characteristic for old HK atmosphere. We stopped by Mei-Ho House to understand how the refugee history and a fire in 1950 had an influence on its current look. Very good... More

This is one of the most local place for Hong Kong as well as old Hong Kong. You may find different street foods and local food that people normally have, and most importantly in a reasonable price. One of the good one will be Wai Kee Noodle Cafe, I would recommend the pork liver noodles ($3x HKD) which Chinese people... More
