Other people have written about the gun, allow yourself enough time to find the underground tunnel. There are at least a couple of accesses to it, but they are not that obvious. The sign at the end of Canon St, directs you to the WTC,...More

We were wandering around the water to try and find an underground tunnel. We ended up here. It was late at night so it was closed. The tunnel entrance was right beside the gun. It would have been hard the other way as we ended...More

This ritual is over in the space of 30 seconds, but if you like a little history. This is very much worth coming to see. The gardens area is opened up after the gun is fired, for about 30 minutes

While I wouldn't make a special trip, if you are in the area and it's close to noon I would definitely go. Depending on how punctual you are and how many pictures you want to take, you could literally arrive at 11:59.55 and be gone...More

It happens exactly at 12 noon. It is only fired once so if you arrive at 12.01 then you have missed it!
