The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.

I had a so relaxing massage there. I floated around Central for the short time then I found this Amrita Spa. Friendly service, excellent massage, peaceful there. Highly recommended!

Affordable, friendly service, clean chic space, new client specials

Hong Kong can sometimes be a city of extremes, and as far as I’ve found, this does apply to nail spas - you’re either going to five star full service spas with exorbitant prices just to get your nails done, or you go super low end at a cubby hole buried deep inside the labyrinthine local shopping centers without any obvious safety regulations compliance.

So I was super excited to stumble across Amrita on the way to dinner one night. Yes it’s in a small street in Central, yes it’s a very tiny boutique space, but I loved the cozy chic, relaxing, inviting and clean decor. And they were running new client specials for gel manicures at half price (HKD $190 discounted price!!), and did not give me any attitude at all even after hearing that I’m only visiting family, do not live in the city so unlikely to become a regular wit the frequency they wanted. They still have me the deal and A++ service, helping me pick out colors and taking great care to get my nails (pretty ragged from 2 weeks of travel and continuous gel applications) perfect.

Color selections were not massive but it’s quality not quantity with Amrita Spa. Loved the vamp-like color with subtle glitter, and I ended up adding HKD$50 to get one finger on each hand polished with a Korean brand sparkly color (special application).

All the staff were super nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

If I lived here I would definitely be a regular!! And will definitely plan to return next time I’m in town again.

Very pushy staff

While massage and environment was good, the staff was extremely pushy. I went with a discount voucher and after the treatment the staff insist that I have to buy their treatment there.

Relaxing environment and great services

Recently, I have taken the offer $388 for Aroma massage for 2-times, though it was a short visit in Hong Kong, I went for massage on the last 2 days as I was exhausted after long shopping hours. Location is convenient as it's located at central. This place is very nice. Clean and tidy. The staffs were very kind. The massage was totally excellent and relaxing. Definitely will go there again for the next visit.

Excellent Victorian Style Spa, a Tiny Gem in the Financial District
Mar 2015 • Friends
This is one of the most beautiful and cute spas I've been to. Don't be disillusioned by the tiny and cramped reception area - once you walk inside the therapy corridor and see the rooms you'll be pleasantly surprised. This spa is dimly lit, styled with vintage English style furniture and the whole spa in an ivory, creamy hue. There are even small chandeliers hanging from ceilings.

In this tiny establishment but it provides a two person sauna and a decently sized shower. Lockers are provided to guests to put their belongings and valuables. The couples room is spacious, the massage tables of high quality (it won't hurt your face if you lie face-down for an hour), and all the furnishings are tastefully done. Certain therapists are of Thai descent and perform an excellent thai massage. It is pristinely clean.

They offer detox massage, lymphatic massage, facials, pedicures and manicures, all at reasonable prices. Check their website for monthly promotions.

This will not be your Mandarin Oriental/Four Seasons experience for sure, because of the lack of space, but it is one of the best examples of well-run, high-quality spa in super-cramped Hong Kong. During my short visit I saw a slew of people who also had appointments. Very popular among the locals!

The surrounding area feels shady since the spa is located within a small alley, and the entrance a stairway walk-up, but don't be deterred - the spa is an oasis in a concrete jungle.

Caters to ladies only.
