Open to public and free admission, Jao Tsung-I Academy is a landscaped historical centre with focus on culture and calligraphy. It is conveniently located just up the hill from the residential area at Mei Foo MTR Station (Exit B). It is like a hub of...More

It was sad that we have only just discovered this gem in crowded Hong Kong, since our discovery in December last year, have been going back whenever we get a chance. Simply amazing that such historical buildings, the Master's life, various other exhibition of the...More

While you can go on foot from the MTR station, would recommend either taking the shuttle bus, or a short ride on the taxi up the hill. Tucked along the hillside on three levels, the place has gallery, exhibition hall, cafe, and a small bazaar...More

A cultural resort with exhibition and conference facilities, a restaurant, a Chinese tea house and hotel services. Not something which can be easily found in Hong Kong.

Making a special trip here may be very rewarding if you like Chinese literature and cultural heritage. In addition to the permanent displays, visiting shows are arranged on a regular basis. Even has a hostel for those wanting to take it all in.

This is a new historical site... when we talked into the Tea Boutique (for a wonderful experience tasting a variety of teas) they literally asked how we heard about it because tourists from outside of HK don't usually come there. I don't know why that...More

I visited there in April when there were weekend markets and flower fest. The best time to visit over a year, especially for photo shooting and shuttle bus was available. It is actually only 10 mins walk from MTR station but the trail is hard...More

A historical site, very well preserved and now converted to promote Chinese culture exchange. I enjoyed the natural serenity and beauty of the surrounding - trees, flowers, birds and the fishes&frog in the pond. The restaurant is run by pensioners and is very busy.

Historical site named in honor of Professor Jao Tsung-I, a Chinese scholar, poet, calligrapher and painter. This site with over 100-year history has changed from a seaside customs station, a Chinese labors' living quarter, subsequently a quarantine station, a prison and hospital until now a...More
