This tower on the summit of Lion Hill is within the north-west section of Nanjing city. Sections of the old city wall are to be seen around parts of the hill.. From near the base of the hill there is a series of external escalators to assist in reaching the summit. Then the climb to the 7th (and top) level... More

Just like the Big Goose Pagoda in Xi/An, the Yue Jiang Tower of Nanjing is almost a reminicent structure to the pagoda. Very nice view up there, similar to the summer palace and jingshan park in Beijing too! We recommend visiting there in the evening because it's a lot better

Nice location on a hill from which you can see the Yangtze river and Nanjing skyline. But the temple which is new, was closed.

took a cab down to this area ( from zhenghe treasure park: 15 rmb) as there was no subway located nearby. other than the long flights of steps, I enjoyed the rest of the trips. The tower consists of various exhibition as well as 2 souvenir shops and tea house at the upper 3 level. the view from the top... More

This tower, slightly off the beaten track, is really worth a visit. It is set high above the Yangtze River with stunning views from its upper floors (seven in total) with a welcome breeze in Nanjing's very hot summers. The tower was used by the Ming emperors so has correspondingly ornate decoration and architecture and some interesting history of the... More

Everyone who goes to Nanjing will go to Yuejiang Tower, where you can have a close look at Changjiang River. The attraction is large, splendid and high.

Yuejiang Tower is worth a visit. There was a choice of taking the elevator, escalator or walking up. It was a sunny day and thus was very pleasant up there. View of the Yangtze was spectacular. The entrance of the tower was on its basement where visitors could read about all the emperors of the Ming dynasty.

You can see the temples when you cross Nanjing #1 bridge, but getting there is another story. It is difficult to get to, but that means it is not as crowded. There are some amazing examples of pagodas, and it has undergone a restoration very recently, so the colors and artwork are very vibrant. There are also classic examples of... More

Spend an hour or so at this fabulous pagoda. The colours & paint work on the ceilings are amazing. Nice walk along an old part of the city wall as well.
