Once you get passed the old city walls, all the sounds of the city are gone. It's quiet and peaceful. The walk can be long and relaxing. But then you get these old men with their portable speakers attached to their waists and blast this...More

A typical Chinese Park. Very clean and very well looked after but with the usual boat rides, food shops and souvenir shops. It is sizeable and all based around the lake. You won't get solitude but you will get a taste of Chinese down time....More

This is a nice place to take a stroll if your hotel is nearby. You could also see parts of the Chinese Wall there. Plan to spend around 60 minutes there.

Nice place to walk around the lake, maybe take a tram tour (all in Chinese) or walk the wall around the lake. Great place for young children to get out some energy, along with a small amusement park for children rides.

This is the same place as "xianwu lake". I went there after a quite disappointing visit to purple mountain and I liked it much more! It's a nice park on a few islands on Xuanwu lake, so there's a lot of water, ponds, bridges... all...More

We entered from the Jimingsi Gate and walked through the park to the opposite side of the park. We entered the park around 5:30pm and there was lots of shade and people walking. When I entered the park last year from the other direction, I...More

Parks are nicest when they are on water, and the combination of forest and lake are what makes this park so pleasant. XuanWu Park is a series of connected Islands with the occasional monument. I was here twice: the first time at dusk and then...More

China knows how to do parks and this is no exception. Beautiful trees, lots of things to see, all manner of people to watch. Everything from young children’s funfair to arboreal oases of tranquility. Four or five islands joined by short bridges, each a little...More

Being November I don’t think we saw this park at its best, I imagine it’s far better in warmer weather. Nonetheless it has immaculately maintained gardens and nice lakes, a great place to go for a walk or take to the lake on a hired...More
